Chapter 66. A Friend
Avery’s POV
I gasped and turned back to be met with the sight of an angry Ethan stalking towards us, his eyes shooting daggers at Jake’s hand. I pulled away from Jake’s hold and ran towards him.
“Honey! What are you doing here?” I asked sweetly, feigning ignorance at his obvious anger.
Ethan stopped in front of me, his eyes searching my appearance as if something was amiss. “Did he hurt you?”
I laughed. He looked cute worrying about me. I can’t believe there would be a day I would use cute in describing Ethan.
“Why would he, honey? He is a good friend.” I replied while scheming a way to get the two men along in my head.
“Yeah, ‘a friend.’” Ethan drawled sarcastically, and I bit the inside of my cheeks so I didn’t burst into laughter. His frown deepened. “Now what’s funny, Avery? I—”
