Amelia’s POV
“You look so beautiful, sweetie.”
I blinked, barely recognizing the girl staring back at me in the mirror. My gown glowed softly under the light, the fabric smooth against my skin, every detail perfect. My hair was styled just right, my makeup soft and polished. It was everything I’d imagined prom night would look like. Everything I’d dreamed of.
And yet…I felt hollow.
Mom stood behind me, her hands resting gently on my shoulders, and smiled “Seriously, Amelia. You’re stunning.”
“Thanks, Mum” My voice came out quiet, almost distant.
She squeezed my shoulders, her expression softening. “You okay, sweetheart?”
“Yeah. Just…tired.”
