Confusion.

That was the only word that seemed to sum up how I felt about the events of last night.

How had I allowed myself to get caught up in that moment? It must have been a lapse in judgment. A fleeting weakness, right? Or maybe just a mistake I’d never be able to explain away. Calling it an accident again was starting to feel like a lie I wasn’t sure I could keep telling myself. The truth was, it hadn’t been an accident. I’d felt it. He’d felt it. And we both knew there was more to it than just some impulsive mistake. But I wasn’t ready to admit that yet—not to myself, and certainly not to him.
