Amelia’s POV
The moment I stepped off the bus, I remembered exactly why I hated camping.
The ground was uneven, the air smelled like damp wood and bug spray, and I just knew I was going to end up with insect bites in places insects had no business biting. The cabins looked old enough to have ghosts, the lake in the distance was probably filled with things that would touch my feet, and the trees were so tall and dense they might as well have been setting the scene for a horror movie.
And I was stuck here for the entire weekend—with Adrian nearby, just close enough to be a problem.

I turned my head just in time to see Adrian walking past me, hands tucked into his hoodie pockets. He didn’t wait for a response, just tossed the words over his shoulder like he knew I’d be looking.
