Amelia’s POV

Brothers?

I was still trying to process what the hell I’d just heard.

Liam must have caught the look on my face because he let out a low chuckle. “Relax, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.” He took a sip of his drink, clearly amused. “We’re not brothers. But does it really matter? Same blood, same family, same history. We’re cousins, which basically still means the same thing at the end of the day.” He flicked a glance at Adrian, his smirk deepening. “Right, Ian?”

Cousins.

Not brothers.

I turned to Adrian, half-expecting him to brush it off with something lighthearted, but his expression was tight, his jaw locked like he was grinding his teeth into dust. He didn’t look at Liam, didn’t acknowledge him at all, like ignoring him would somehow make him disappear.

Liam, on the other hand, looked like he was having the time of his life. He swirled his drink lazily, eyes glinting with something almost wicked.
