I stared at the ceiling of the car, trying, well mostly, failing to ignore the fact that Adrian Kane was sitting beside me.

The leather seat beneath me was too soft, and on any other day, this would have been the perfect moment to close my eyes, enjoy the ride, and doze off, because let’s face it, how many other opportunities would I have to be in a limousine?

I let out a slow breath, willing my pulse to relax and just enjoy this moment.
