Amelia’s POV

I stepped out of my building to find Liam already waiting for me, leaning casually against his car with his arms crossed over his chest, a slow, easy grin spreading across his face when he saw me. He looked good; relaxed, confident, effortlessly put together in a dark button-down with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of fitted jeans.

“Wow,” he said, pushing off the car as he came toward me. “You look divine.”

I let out a small laugh, shaking my head. “Divine?”

“Yes, divine. Ethereal. Angelic. Pick your favorite.” He reached out and took my hand, giving it a light squeeze before spinning me around. “Damn, I might be the luckiest guy alive.”

“Oh, stop.” I rolled my eyes, but I was smiling.

He opened the car door for me, and as I slid inside, I couldn’t help but appreciate how easy things were with him. There was no tension, no overthinking. I didn’t have to worry about reading between the lines or deciphering hidden meanings. Wit
