Amelia’s POV

I hadn’t even realized how close Adrian and I had gotten until Liam suddenly stepped in between us, his brows raised in concern.

Emily grabbed Adrian’s arm at the same time. “Alright, let’s get some food before you two actually start throwing punches.”

I was grateful for the suggestion. The games had been intense; probably more intense than they needed to be, and frankly I needed something like food to distract me.

We made our way to the small diner section of the arcade, where the smell of greasy food and melted cheese filled the air. I slid into the booth across from Emily, while Adrian and Liam headed to the counter to order.

I watched them for a second, mostly because I couldn’t help it. Liam was talking animatedly, and Adrian was nodding along, looking as relaxed as ever. Then, out of nowhere, Adrian reached out and ruffled Liam’s hair. Liam chuckled, nudging him in the ribs, clearly used to it.
