Amelia’s POV

I smoothed my hands down the fabric of my dress, eyeing my reflection in the full-length mirror. The soft long sleeved burgundy colored gown hugged my body in all the right places before cascading down in delicate folds. It was elegant. Sophisticated.

But was it too much?

“Alright, ye look like a princess,” Kaylee declared from behind me, arms crossed, nodding in approval as she bowed dramatically like we were in a Bible movie.

A laugh escaped me. “Ye?”

My best friend was looking so much better than she had in weeks. Her skin had regained some color, and there was more strength in her steps. It was such a relief to see after everything that had happened.

She rolled her eyes. “You. You look like a princess.” Then she tilted her head, considering. “Wait, are you sure you don’t want me to say queen? Maybe goddess?”

I turned away from the mirror, pursing my lips. “Are you sure it’s not too much?”
