Zevara’s POV

The driver pressed the pedal harder and the tyres screeched to a stop just inches away from me.

My chest roared in my ears and I breathed out in relief; I couldn’t believe that the car did not hit me. I didn’t believe that I’m still alive. My legs grew weak and I stumbled to the floor.
