Magnus’ POV

All through the nights, I couldn’t sleep. Not with the way Zevara’s words echd through my mind like a chant. Not with the way I could still see how she stared up at me like I was nothing but a monster. Not with the way she was storming off the mansion like I was some kind of curse that she needed to get away from as fast as possible.

Fuck!

How could she say I go overboard with protecting her? Someone tried to molest her and I reprimanded them… but yeah, I was the bad guy. Always the bad guy.

But then… I don’t care if she thinks I’m a monster. I don’t care if she thinks there is something wrong with me, one thing was sure, I would protect her with everything inside me. No… she was the only one who had ever completed me and I won’t lose her like I lost my mate. And I wasn’t just bluffing when I said, I will kill a million more to protect her.

Yeah… and the fact that she was in Talon’s room too contributed to the turmoil inside me. What
