Talon’s POV
The past few weeks have been tough for me. Even though my mate tried to act like she was fine, I knew she wasn’t. She zoned out completely, wore sadness on her face like armour, and avoided getting sexually involved with me. I knew she was still affected by the lies I told her about my father… but I didn’t care. She could sulk all she wanted, but soon she would get used to the fact that they were truly over, and that was final.
I made sure Zevara knew who she belonged to. I made it clear that it was just us now—no one else. That was why I proposed to her so quickly, to secure her as mine.
