Zevara’s POV

My brows knitted in confusion. Talon’s words were foreign to my ears. I refused to believe that the Alpha was that dangerous and would actually harm me just because I chose Talon.

And again, I thought I saw them drinking together back then. Even though it was strange, especially since they talked about some deal, still I don’t think the Alpha would hurt me all because of something this livid.

“What did you mean?” I asked, my voice barely audible. “I thought I saw you both drinking together and you even agreed to let Nina go.”

“Don’t let that deceive you, Vara. The deal we were talking about was Nina. He made me promise to agree to let her go and then he would reinstate me back to the team… but I still believed he still had an evil agenda against you and I.”

“So you mean he can harm me?”

“Yes!” He answered firmly—his expression was serious. “He can’t handle rejection.”

“But I don’t think he would do that though.”
