Chapter 60. I'm Ready

Cassian POV

Lyra leads the other ladies up the gangplank, carrying a huge bundle. I scoop it out of her arms. “What’s all this?” I ask.

“Silanya gave me some reading assignments,” she explains, clutching the jewelry box holding the Amulet of Light to her chest. “I have a lot of work to do, studying to be a good Luna.”

“You’re already a perfect Luna,” I tell her, planting a kiss on her cheek.

“I’m not, but I appreciate your support.” She looks over her shoulder at the other ladies. “I need to get my mother situated in her stateroom.”

‘Assist the Luna with her family’s stateroom assignments,’ I tell the nearest guardsman in the mind-link. He steps over to us immediately, and I hand him Lyra’s package of books. “He’ll show you there.”

“I’ll see you soon,”
