Gabriel’s POV

Last night, Paige bared her neck to me so I could mark her and complete the mate bond but I didn’t. At first, I panicked. I’d barely known her, I want to know her very well before going to that level with her. I want to know her outside the mate bond, I want to build a relationship that is beyond just being a mate.

Moreover, we were both controlled by our emotions last night. I didn’t want to do something on an impulse and make her regret it later.
