I heard the director muttering, “Wonderful. Exceptional. This calls for more research”. The look on his face was the first time I had ever seen my teacher astonished. I couldn’t really decipher what the computer was saying, but whatever it was, from the look on my teacher’s face, I was afraid of being turned into a lab rat. I tried planning my escape, but then the place was new to me, somehow, I felt calm, like I knew the blueprint of the place by heart.

“Okay, Simeon. Congratulations. You can join the others. You will be shown your room later by Mr. Sly,” the director said, shaking my hands. “Welcome to Underground Gauge. We hope to be able to work with you for a long period of time.”
