Chapter 20

I was still in thought till he came back. He must have noticed my change in mood and jumped into my arms, resting his head on my thighs in order to distract me. I wanted to push him away and start firing my questions, but I decided to tread carefully. I think he saw the fear in my eyes.

“Sunshine, why are you scared? Do you remember something? Is something wrong?” he pressed on.

I couldn’t speak as I was turning these thoughts in my mind. I was just staring at him. Also, I was feeling a dark aura coming from a part of the house. Also, the same aura came from Drake but seemed a bit subdued in Drake’s case.

“Sunshine, please say something. You’re freaking me out. Oh, say something, for God’s sake,” he said suddenly, shaking me. I chose to pretend everything was alright.

“It’s okay. I’m sorry I spaced out. I was thinking of something.”

“Wow, the way your thoughts pull you. Anyway, get dressed. I have a surprise for you,” he said, putting his clothes on.
