Chapter 5
Clint
Clint glared at Odette from his sofa that he had settled upon opposite her in the home theater. Odette was on full alert, sitting up as straight and proud as she could despite being tied down to the chair she was seated on. Sam returned to the room with a couple of beers and sat beside Clint to have a drink after their long day at work. Clint accepted his beer, but his eyes didn’t leave Odette’s.
“Tell me, Odette,” he said, “What were you doing in Ken’s office?”
Odette shook her head and tried to speak through the muffled gag. Clint ignored her pleas to release her to speak.
“No need for excuses, Odette. There was no good reason for you to be in there.”
“And how did she know the code for entry?” Sam wondered aloud.
“We haven’t obtained past security footage to see what Odette got to around the shop when she was there alone,” Clint commented to Sam. “We don’t know what else she did or what else she stole.”
