Chapter 169. Fall of a Queen

Queen Meridah stared at the deep-orange sky through her window, her fingers intertwining as she waited impatiently to hear the alarm Annalyn would sound—the alarm that would signal all the fairies present in the agriglyph to flee immediately and hopefully save her people from total annihilation. She had already wasted too much time by waiting for Arthur’s reply, and if her people were to be captured now, she wouldn’t be able to live with herself.

The sound suddenly came, and she could hear the buzzing of over a hundred wings.

Her eyes suddenly tensed as she noticed the sky over the agriglyph glow purple for a fleeting moment before returning to its normal color. She squinted in an attempt to figure out what exactly had just happened, lifting her right palm. Crystal shards from her dress gathered over her palm into a long spyglass, and she looked at the sky through it to find a purple dome sitting over the entire maze, sealing everyone in.
