Chapter 46. The Past
Keira’s parents turned to her in bewilderment, wondering if their daughter knew about Ben’s dark childhood story that Julia had mentioned earlier. Keira shook her head, signaling them not to say anything.
“I don’t care about that; do whatever you want to do,” said Ben, staring at Julia with a cold gaze. He threw his apron on the kitchen table and turned to Keira, saying, “You can take your parents to the cafe downstairs. They serve delicious food. I apologize for the inconvenience. I have to go now,” and walked briskly to the door, leaving all of them flabbergasted.
Keira closed her eyes and breathed heavily.
“You’re such a pain in the ass!” she snapped, turning her eyes to Julia, who bit her lips, thinking. Before long, Ralph, Ben’s bodyguard, showed up and pulled Julia’s wheelchair to the door, making Julia mad instantly.
“What the hell are you doing?! You cannot force me to leave this place!” she screamed.
