After the officiant asked about the sincerity of their vows, he said, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!”
Ben immediately grabbed Keira’s waist, pulled her closer, and kissed her gently. She closed her eyes, carried away by the wedding atmosphere. She could feel the salty taste of her tears that kept flowing one by one. She didn’t know whether it was because of that fake wedding or Julia’s presence that bothered her in every way.
The applause from the guests was so loud and booming that it brought her back to reality. She avoided Ben’s gaze as he parted his lips. Her cheeks were flushed, making her look like a teenager falling in love for the first time.
Suddenly, the music played the host called out the Mackey couple for the first dance. She glared, turning to Ben in surprise.
“What did he just say? First dance? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’m not a good dancer!” she said in a panic. Ben snorted, laughing.
