Extra III. Broken Heart

"How was your dinner?" Gabriella asked as she greeted her son and Lena.

"Dinner was good, but I feel sorry for Lena," Cayden reported as he landed on his mother's lap.

Receiving such information, Gabriella and Mia's brows furrowed. "What happened?" Those women asked almost at the same time.

"Bobby isn't a nice person," Cayden said before glancing at the girl who had just sat down on the carpet. "He insulted Lena's job."

"What? How come?" Gabriella cried with round eyes.

Smiling sadly, the young servant shrugged one shoulder. “He thought that I was Mrs. Mia's personal assistant. That's why he took me out to dinner ... to get a connection to the Evans family. Looks like, he's planning to apply for a job at Mr. Evans’ company.”

"Gosh! Why is he so petty?” Mia sighed with pity. Grace even got confused by the sound of her mother's soft voice.

"Who knows? Maybe he's desperate to support himself,” Lena said still with the same expression. <
