Chapter 6. Awakened

Rachel turned her head, trying to close her eyes. She was feeling sleepy at that moment. However, she had to open her eyes again when she felt movement beside her.

Rachel could vaguely see Mario’s silhouette sitting beside her. But it couldn’t be Mario! He had just come home a few minutes ago. Rachel tried to focus her eyes and regain full awareness.

“Did you get up?”

Rachel asked, still trying to refocus her vision. It was indeed Mario sitting in front of her.

“Mario? Didn’t you say you were leaving to go home?” she asked.

Mario, confused by Rachel’s words, shook his head. He held up a plastic bag full of food in front of her. “I went to get food. You should eat first. If you want to rest, you can come to my room,” Mario said with concern.

Mario had a private room in the hospital due to his profession as a doctor.

“No, I’ll just stay here,” Rachel replied.

“Okay then, you better eat. I don’t want you to get sick,” Mario said with conc
