Chapter 107. Waiting for Her
“Oh no, they’ve found my car!” exclaimed a horrified Wesley, who had parked his car right in front of his grandparents’ house.
“They can’t find us here,” said Brooklyn in a voice filled with dejection. Wesley gave her a look of disbelief.
“Are you sad because of it? You don’t sound relieved at all,” said Wesley, shaking his head.
“I don’t know what I’m feeling,” said Brooklyn with a grimace. Wesley smacked his forehead.
“Aren’t you weird? You made me take all the pains and now if I’m caught, I’ll land up in jail. Your Mr. Ardolf looks like he would beat the shit out of me if he found me. So I’m just praying that he never finds us,” said Wesley, but Brooklyn caught him by his throat and shook him well.
“Traitor!” gasped a choking and laughing Wesley.
The cops found the door to Wesley’s grandparents’ house locked. “They locked the place up, Mr. Ardolf. I think they’ve bluffed us and escaped again,” said the officer in charge of the investigation.
