Chapter 118. Who Was The Woman?

Soon it was dinnertime and Brooklyn hid her laptop in her closet. She didn’t want Nikolas to create unnecessary problems in her life. She was sure that he would object to her working for Ryder, as well as to her studies.

But she was adamant. She didn’t want his charity! It would have been different if she were his wife or if there was love between them, but now she was sure that he didn’t love her. She was just the mother of his babies, nothing else!

After a lonely dinner, she tended to the twins, spending extra time there with Sally. She didn’t wish to return to the lonely bedroom anymore and wanted to sleep in the nursery. It shouldn’t affect Nikolas, as he didn’t sleep with her at all.

“Sally, the twins were cranky last night, so I think I’ll sleep with them tonight,” she told her. Sally looked at her with apprehension and finally shook her head.

“No, Brooklyn. Sir will be angry with me and throw me out of this job,” said Sally.
