Chapter 122. Brooklyn's Desperation

The next morning, by the time she woke up, Nikolas had already left for work. Brooklyn angrily ate and continued with her daily routine. When it was time to check her work for the day, she took out her laptop, but to her dismay, the screen seemed to be locked with a password.

Brooklyn frowned, unable to decipher the password and unlock the screen. What the hell! How would she complete her work and studies for the day? Who could have tampered with her laptop? Then her thoughts went to Nikolas. Was he the one who had set a password to harass her?

She angrily picked up her mobile phone and called Nikolas, but he had switched off his phone. Time was running out, and she needed the password fast. So she called on the landline phone that was always present on Nikolas’s desk.

After five rings, the same female voice purred from the other end, the one which made her blood boil with anger. It was Hailey’s voice!

“Hullo, I’m Hailey, how may I help you?” said Hailey.
