Chapter 139. A Strange Wedding Night
He loosened his grip but didn’t release her altogether, leading her into their bedroom. The twins were fast asleep, and so was Ellie.
“If you don’t leave my hand, how will I tend to your wound?” asked a tired Brooklyn.
Nikolas released her and walked into the en-suite for a shower. “I’ll just wash away the dust and grime first,” he said.
Brooklyn nodded and changed into her nightdress in the meantime.
Nikolas emerged, freshly showered and looking better. “Do what you want to do with me,” he said, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Brooklyn went to the washroom to freshen up and get the first aid box.
“I’m really going to the root of this matter. How did Ryder enter the premises?” asked an angry Nikolas.
“It’s better that it’s over and done with Nikolas. I don’t want to face him again. After tonight, I don’t think he’s ever going to come back here again,” said Brooklyn.
