Chapter 30. Tell Me You Don't Want Me
“I’ll lay the table.” Glad to get busy, she set about doing her task while he whistled and served the pasta onto a serving platter. The garlic bread was done, and he pulled the tray out of the oven.
“Ready for today’s payment?” Amelia’s jaws dropped to the floor as she followed him to the table. So this was the payment he was talking about? Her cheeks flushed even more thinking about her own conclusions. She was really losing her shit around this hot guy.
They sat down while he told her tales about his first time in the kitchen. She enjoyed the meal, listening to him talk about his family, his siblings. A strange longing engulfed him as he mentioned them. He was the oldest among all and they looked up to him for everything.
“How many siblings do you have?” she asked with interest.
“The one after me is Marco. He’s five years younger and helps dad in his business. Then there’s Marcello, who’s the youngest. He just turned twenty. He’s eight years younger than me
