Chapter 33. A Threat Note

Absorbed in her thoughts, she was startled when the security guard called her. “There’s an envelope for you, Ms. Mitchell.”

Amelia frowned at the plain white envelope with the name Emilia written over it. Was it from Matteo? After all, he was the only one in the world who called her that.

“Thank you, but who left it for me?”

“A man handed it over to me this afternoon, Ms. Mitchell. He asked me to hand it over to Matteo’s woman.” Amelia frowned at his reply. Who could the man be? Did Matteo send him?

“Oh, maybe Matteo sent it to me.” She took it and walked towards the elevator.

“I don’t think so, Ms. Mitchell. I know almost all the guys who work in his shop, but the man who delivered the letter was a stranger. I’ve never seen the man before,” said the guard after much thought. Amelia’s jaws dropped, and she frowned at the note in her hands.

Curiosity got the better of her and she opened the envelope and pulled a folded scrap of paper out. Unfolding
