Chapter 66. Amelia Separates from Ryder

“I won’t accept money from you. You’re my beloved brother’s friend and I can’t possibly accept anything from you. If he was alive, he would have felt hurt.” Matteo’s mouth hung with surprise. What did he mean?

“I didn’t get you. Who isn’t alive?” A sense of dread gripped his heart as he waited for Eduardo's answer.

“Alphonso died two days ago battling for his life after Luigi lodged five bullets into his body. Luca tried saving Alphonso and received fatal injuries. He breathed his last this evening. I was with both of them in their last moments. Luca told me everything about you, Matteo. I would advise you not to return to New York, but to hide for a few days until Luigi takes over NSM. That was what Luca told me.”

“Luigi should be handed to the cops. I hope he gets arrested soon for his misdeeds.”

The next morning before daybreak, Eduardo drove Matteo to his house to collect his stuff. Afterwards he dropped him off at the airport for his flight to LA. H
