Chapter 108. No News of Matteo
“At last I got my hands on you, Ricci. I should have finished you long ago. You destroyed my work, my gang, my life!”
“You deserved it, Luigi.”
Luigi kicked him in his chest with such force that he fell to the ground. “You deserve to die.” He pulled out his gun and shot at Matteo, drilling two bullets into his body. Matteo ducked, and the bullets hit his shoulder blade and abdomen, missing his heart by inches. Blood sputtered, and he fell to the floor in a heap.
Luigi didn’t stop. In his rage, he shot another bullet at him, but the sound of a car alerted him. The bullet missed Matteo’s head and landed on his arm instead.
“The cops are here. Let’s go.”
They rushed out from the back door, leaving Matteo in a pool of blood to die. He slowly closed his eyes as his body started giving way. The pain was unbearable, and he knew he couldn’t make it this time.
