Chapter 50. It Wasn't a Mistake
When she went inside, she found Sally busy cleaning the house.
“Hello, Brooklyn, so good to see you again,” she said with a warm smile on her face.
“Hello Sally, how are you?” Brooklyn asked.
“I’m good, dear, but Mr. Ardolf informed me you aren’t well. Do you need anything now?” she asked kindly, looking very concerned. Brooklyn shook her head.
“No, thank you. I’ll lie down for a while,” she said, going to her room. She used the heating pad and lay down afterwards. Thankfully, the pain hadn’t returned, and soon she dozed off while waiting for Nikolas impatiently. She never knew that an hour could stretch so long!
Nikolas shut his laptop and strode out of the conference room. The ordeal was over and he was now free to go home to Brooklyn. Since the threat still loomed ahead, Nikolas called a meeting with his administrative staff to step up the security system around the estate.
