Nikolas opened his bleary eyes and noticed that it was morning already and he had the worst hangover of his life, thanks to all that drinking from last night. He groaned, seeing Brooklyn’s side of the bed empty. Maybe she went downstairs to sleep in her own room. Everything that he had done last night in his state of extreme jealousy came rushing into his mind and he felt ashamed of himself.

First Knightsbridge, then Michael, and finally the words he had overheard had made him lose his mind. He had been so hurt that he had taken to the bottle instead of talking to Brooklyn. He remembered the hurt expression on her face when he had hurled accusations at her. Was she after his money, or did she really love him? He wanted to believe that she loved him.

However, he knew that even if she was after his money, he shouldn’t have forced her to have sex with him. Now that he had, how would he face her? She would be so hurt! No wonder she had gone to her own room
