Chapter 101

FEYRE

I walked out of the room, closing the door behind me. I didn't hear it open or hear his footsteps coming out. It makes a lump form in my throat and no matter how hard I try to swallow, I can't seem to get rid of it.

Resting my back against the wall, I shut my eyes and exhaled a heavy breath, trying to will the last thirty or so minutes from my mind but it wasn't working. When my eyes started to sting, I knew I had to leave the place.

I walked out of the door, not even worried about how I was going to get in or where I was going. I just knew I needed to get out of there, I felt suffocated, I needed fresh air to breathe, clear my head, build more defenses then try to figure out how to tackle this new... development, for the lack of a better word.

I headed straight for the elevator which was thankfully free and pressed the button for the last floor, hoping no one would join me.

I wasn't in the mood for company and there were pretty important people h
