Rodney was speechless at Amber’s words. It was true—Rachel was the kind of person who would do such a thing. He could not think of anything to refute her words.
“Rodney, we are finished. If you have even the tiniest bit of affection towards me, if you really want what’s best for Mel, then I beg you to let me go. Pierce and I will get married soon. I am imploring you not to pester us anymore! Please!” Rodney’s eyes darkened when he heard that. In his mind, he thought, “Amber, are you so eager to marry Pierce? Don’t you feel anything for me?”
Seeing that he was silent, Amber didn’t want to stay there any longer and walked right past him out the door.
