She stepped forward, placed her palms on Marvelous’s table, and said softly, “I would gladly do it again if he ever tries to touch me.”

Vendet’s eyes widened in shock. “You insolent child!” Vendet yelled angrily. He reached for Gretel’s shoulder, but before he could even come close to touching her, Gretel vanished. She reappeared just above him and smashed her right heel into his head.

“What speed!” Marvelous thought to himself as he watched Vendet’s head slam into the ground.

“Hey, stop that! You will not act in such a manner in my office,” Marvelous finally found the voice to speak, getting up from his seat.

Gretel stood still, staring at Vendet on the ground. She suddenly raised her head, and a small gust of wind blew through the window behind Marvelous, lifting Gretel’s hair slightly. Her diamond-blue eyes were revealed for a moment, sending a shiver down Marvelous’s spine.
