“Hmmm, how do I find Delilah now?” Gretel thought to herself as she walked through a hallway in the academy building. Her face was emotionless. She was so deep in thought that she ignored every sound around her.

“Delilah was put in cryo-sleep after the incident. She must be really devastated. I really need to see her; I didn’t get a chance to say—”

“Hey, watch where you’re going!” Coach Vendet said as Gretel bumped into him. His voice snapped her out of her thoughts, and she raised her head. She stared at the man before her for a moment, then dropped her head and continued walking.

“Hey, come back here!” Vendet yelled as he reached for her uniform collar. The girl turned around rapidly, the resulting wind blowing her hair to the side, revealing one of her diamond-blue eyes. She delivered a heavy blow to Vendet’s stomach. He coughed up some blood, but before he could be thrown back, Gretel grabbed his shirt, pulled him back, and let go.
