Chapter 50
“Arghh!” Epseba exclaimed, opening his eyes to a terrible headache. He shut them tightly, trying to adjust to the pain. After a few seconds, it subsided—not completely, but enough for him to regain his senses.
He opened his eyes again and saw a chandelier hanging above him. It was golden and sparkled brightly, illuminating the room even without the lights on. He turned to his right and saw the walls, painted green and decorated with leaf patterns. He turned to his left and noticed a table beside the bed, with a wardrobe against the far wall.
On the table was his bag. “My bag!” he exclaimed, finally regaining full consciousness.
“Where the hell am I?” he asked, sitting up and feeling a bit panicked. To his surprise, the bed he sat on was as soft as cotton, and the blanket that provided warmth was as smooth as silk.
“Expensive stuff!” he thought to himself.
“Whose house is this?” he asked, an anxious look growing on his face.
