“Where have you guys been?” Tornwell said, the moment he saw the duo.
“You missed the tour of the scenery; it’s exquisite,” he added.
He noticed how Epseba held on to his shoulders and his bleeding head.
“Oh my God, Epseba, you’re bleeding.” He rushed towards him to inspect the wound.
“We need first aid,” the king said to one of his guards, and they rushed to get it. “What happened? And why are you two wet?” The king asked, approaching Jenovia, placing his hands on her cheeks.
“No scratch, as it should be,” he uttered, turning to Epseba with angry eyes.
“It’s not his fault, father; it was mine, we wondered. Into the forest and…”
Before Jenovia could finish, the king interrupted. “Into the forest?! I’m sure it’s his influence,” the king said in agitation.
“Tch… typical,” Epseba said under his breath, but Tornwell heard him and sighed.
“How many fingers am I holding?” Tornwell asked
