Chapter 71. Night Adventures

Jared drifted between that wonderful place between sleep and waking. The air still smelled like the activity they had before they fell asleep. His body felt heavy, but his mind replayed fragments of his lover's soft laughter and moans, the feel of their skin... their taste on his lips.

He reached out instinctively, his hands searching for Hayden where he should have been sleeping beside him, but his fingers met only the cool sheet.

Jared’s eyes opened immediately.

The bed was half empty. Myla and Beck were tangled together on the other side, still asleep. The clock glowed past two.

He sighed, rubbed a hand over his face, then leaned in to press a soft kiss to Myla’s shoulder. She stirred but didn’t wake. Beck mumbled something and pulled her closer.

Jared smiled faintly, then pushed the covers aside and got up.
