Even in this last moment, the chief still believes Scott to be a god and he’s ready to fight him or even kill him in other to kill Ruth as well.

Scott grinned at him. “I saved your entire village and I have no plan in destroying what I saved. Don’t push me.”

“Very well then! We can let you walk out of here if you hand her over to us.” The chief was desperate in killing Ruth and nothing Scott will do to stop it.
