Ever since the guard had produced the bracelets that had both the names of Auntie Lia and the human girl inscribed on them, I had been burning with so many questions. For years, I hadn’t seen Auntie Lia, and whenever I asked Auntie Mia, she’d make up one story or another for me. I took it, knowing I was never going to get more than I had been given.

What were those two same-designed bracelets of my aunt and the human girl doing in a house I had never seen before? I didn’t even know that house existed. From the look of things, the only thing I had been able to garner was that the human girl had lied to me. She and Auntie Lia had some sort of connection.
