Hazel's POV

“Are you ready to tell me the truth now?”

He looked like he had no choice and nodded.

“Yes. I’ll tell you whatever it is you want to know, just promise you’ll go back with me.”

“I cannot make such a promise.”

I didn’t know if he realized his face had become crestfallen, but it pinched at my conscience when it did.
