Chapter 91
Hazel's POV
“What truth?”
“You know what I’m talking about, Alpha.”
“I have to have lied before you request for the truth. And unlike you, I haven’t lied.”
That last part was said with accusation ringing clearly in his voice. I turned to look at Mama Mia. She was still seated. She’d somehow removed herself from this conversation, becoming a mere interested spectator.
“Are you sure about that, Alpha?”
“Are you insinuating I’m lying?”
“I would never make such an insinuation except, perhaps, you prove me wrong.”
“And what is that supposed to mean?”
“Alpha, just tell me why you want me to go with you?”
He squirmed in his seat. The Alpha was restless? Well, that was a first. He tore his gaze from mine. That was another first. I was the one who usually did the gaze aversion. Mama Mia suddenly stood from the sofa.
“Auntie, where are you going to?”
“The kitchen. Why? You need me?” One of her brows quirk
