I was tempted to go meet Mama Mia in the kitchen, but she’d clearly told me that I must not, for any reason at all, step my feet into her kitchen. But I could barely sit still. My legs refused to stop tapping the floor. I bit the insides of my lower lip and tried to avoid his stare. To be honest, that wasn’t a stare. It was a glare. An angry one. I wondered if I offended him all the time because he was always angry with me.
"The Alpha is handsome; you can’t deny that, Hazel."
"Really, Lia?"
"What?" she asked innocently.
"I’m sitting here terrified, and all you can think is how handsome he looks."
"Why are you terrified?"
"What happened to ‘his wolf terrifies me’?" I reminded her of when she’d complained of the Alpha’s wolf terrifying her.
"He still terrifies me, but I can’t help noticing he’s my kind of wolf."
I was shocked by her confession, and she even sighed dreamily. What was wrong with Lia?
