Chapter 44. An Unspeakable Power

Sweat had already filled Richard’s forehead when he tried several times to transfer Winona’s power to the last stone before the diamond. The power penetrated the topaz completely until all the blue light seemed to be sucked into it. Martin almost burst into joy, but as if fate was just playing a trick on them, within seconds, the rock shattered into pieces.

“No,” Martin said in a weak voice. His eyes were stinging now, but he was sure Richard wouldn’t want to hear his advice again.

Richard sighed and then tried to transfer Winona’s power into the last stone, which was a diamond. The blue light entered the diamond little by little until it was completely absorbed. As Richard suspected, the power was trapped entirely within the diamond and could no longer escape. Diamonds were so strong that they could trap any power inside. Now, the diamond turned blue and glowed like a lamp.
