Chapter 43. The Ritual Night
Richard wrapped one hand around Winona’s waist, then placed Winona’s hands on his shoulders.
“Follow my moves,” Richard said.
Richard moved left and right, forming a dance step pattern. They danced without music, accompanied only by the sound of the waves crashing and the sea breeze whispering through the leaves. Winona smiled at Richard, though now her vision was blurry with the tears gathering in her eyelids. She tried hard to hold back her tears from falling, but it was in vain. A tear rolled down her cheek.
“Do not cry anymore. I don’t want to see you cry. After all this is over, you won’t be able to remember any of this, so you’ll be happy,” Richard said softly.
“Why do you have to be this nice to me, Richard?” Winona asked.
