Chapter 55. Winona’s Decision
“I’m telling the truth, ma’am. I have never seen him care so much for someone as he cares for you,” Martin said again.
Winona then looked at Martin in disbelief. However, the old man looked at her with firm eyes as if to indicate that he was not lying.
“Is it true?” asked Winona finally.
“If he didn’t care about you, how could he save you that night? Though the Master could let you die at the hands of the vampires. You don’t have your powers now, so if the vampires kill you, they kill a human. The vampires will gain nothing but being satiated. However, Master is willing to take the risk for your sake. Even though the Master doesn’t say it, I know because I’ve known him for hundreds of years,” he replied.
Winona was speechless when she heard the sentence that had just left Martin’s mouth. She didn’t realize it, but when she thought about it, it made a lot of sense.
“Then I’ll excuse myself, ma’am,” Martin replied.
