Chapter 57. Surprise

“Sir, we can at least ask about the situation with the other alpha,” Martin said, trying to persuade him.

“I know you mean to tell me to make up with Maximus Garrett. I’m not going to go to him and apologize, Martin. Forget about the plan,” said Richard.

“Yes, sir,” Martin answered finally, bowing his head. He knew if Richard had said so, it would be useless to persuade him.

“Then I’ll excuse you, sir,” Martin said again, getting to his feet.

However, before Martin could turn around, Richard suddenly called him back.

“Martin, wait,” Richard said.

“What’s wrong, sir?” he asked.

“About the divorce papers, you delivered them to Winona yourself?” he asked.

“That’s right, sir. I delivered it myself,” answered Martin.

“What did you say to her?” asked Richard, probing a little.

“I didn’t say anything, sir. I just dropped it off and left right away,” Martin replied.

“Alright, Martin. You can go now,” said Richard.
