Andrea desperately tried to justify kidnapping and hurting Topaz. She explained to herself that Topaz was a force that was threatening her and Adams' relationship, and as such, needed to be removed.
She convinced herself that if she got rid of Topaz, Adams would love her again - something that he seemed to have stopped doing recently. Andrea felt hurt and frustrated, believing that if she could just outcompete Topaz, she could reclaim her love.
She felt like she had no other option but to act the way she did, and that it was the only way to protect and secure the relationship she had with Adams.
